Savage Arms
Budget .22 LR bolt gun with a heavy threaded 16.5-inch barrel, AccuTrigger, and a one-piece scope rail. The value pick for a suppressor-host trainer.
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Savage Mark II FV-SR is the cheapest way to put a clean trigger and a threaded barrel under a rimfire suppressor. It pairs a heavy, fluted, button-rifled 16.5-inch barrel with Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger, the same trigger system that made Savage's centerfire rifles punch above their price. The muzzle ships threaded 1/2x28, so a .22 can threads straight on with no gunsmithing.
At a street price near $284, it competes directly with the Ruger American Rimfire and undercuts every precision-oriented rimfire trainer above it. The one-piece scope rail is included, the barrel is short and stiff for its weight, and the synthetic stock keeps the whole rifle around 5.5 pounds. It feeds from a 5-round detachable box magazine.
The compromises are the ones you expect at this price. The stock is hollow budget polymer that flexes under a tight sling, the magazines only hold five rounds, and there is no factory option for a heavier chassis. None of that stops it from being the best accuracy-per-dollar bolt gun for a new shooter who wants a quiet, accurate .22.
