Daniel Defense
Full-auto rated BCG with DD's proprietary coating. Enhanced extractor and mil-spec plus construction.
Daniel Defense manufactures bolt carrier groups to the same exacting standards as the BCGs installed in their premium complete rifles. These BCGs are built to mil-spec plus tolerances, exceeding military specifications in materials, testing, and quality control. The 8620 steel carrier and Carpenter 158 steel bolt assembly receive Daniel Defense's proprietary coating treatment, which combines heavy phosphate coating with chrome-lined carrier bore and gas key for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
Daniel Defense offers two finish options: the standard phosphate version with chrome-lined interior, and a premium chrome-plated variant with full silver chrome finish. Both versions feature enhanced extractors for improved reliability with various ammunition types and shot-peened bolts that undergo magnetic particle inspection (MPI) testing. The gas key is properly staked per military specifications, and the carrier bore's chrome lining provides superior wear resistance and ease of cleaning compared to unlined carriers.
The M16 full-auto profile ensures compatibility with both semi-automatic and select-fire applications, though civilian shooters benefit from the increased carrier weight's contribution to reliable cycling with suppressed or short-barreled configurations. Daniel Defense BCGs represent a premium option for builders who want the same quality components that go into DD's $2,000+ complete rifles. The chrome-plated version offers easier cleaning than phosphate, though it displays a dull chrome finish rather than highly polished appearance. Both versions deliver the reliability and durability expected from one of the industry's premier manufacturers.
