The Geissele Super 42 Braided Wire Buffer Spring represents a significant evolution in AR-15 recoil system design, employing a unique three-strand braided wire construction inspired by the German MG42 machine gun. This innovative design allows each wire strand to flex independently, creating a harmonic damping effect that smooths the recoil impulse while completely eliminating the annoying spring reverberations (twang) that plague standard buffer springs. The H2 buffer combo provides optimal performance for mid-length and carbine-length gas systems, particularly on suppressed builds.

The Super 42's braided design delivers 15% stronger average return force compared to standard mil-spec buffer springs, ensuring reliable cycling even under adverse conditions while reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise. The independent strand movement acts as both a harmonic damper and energy absorber, smoothing the buffer's travel and reducing wear on the buffer tube and receiver extension.
