Precision Reflex
The round carbon-fiber free-float forearm issued on the MK12 Mod 0 SPR
The Precision Reflex Gen III carbon-fiber forearm is the round free-float handguard that defines the MK12 Mod 0 SPR. Crane's early SPR builds wanted a rigid free-float tube that floated the 18-inch stainless barrel without the heat transfer or weight of an aluminum quad rail, and PRI's carbon-fiber forearm answered it. The carbon construction keeps the tube cool under sustained precision fire and shaves weight off the muzzle end of a long-barreled rifle.
A full-length Picatinny rail runs along the 12 o'clock for the optic, backup irons, and the offset gas block, while the round carbon body stays smooth for a comfortable, repeatable support-hand hold. The Gen III mounts on a PRI barrel nut and floats the barrel for the harmonics an SPR is built around.
This is the Mod 0 tell. A quad rail or M-LOK tube reads as a generic 18-inch rifle; the round carbon PRI forearm is what makes a Mod 0 a Mod 0.
