Arken Optics
Budget FFP precision scope with 34mm tube, Japanese ED glass, AZS zero stop, and 32 MIL elevation travel for under $600.
The Arken EP-5 5-25x56 FFP is the budget PRS scope that broke the entry-tier mold. At $562 sale ($719.99 MSRP), it delivers a 34mm tube, Japanese ED glass, first focal plane VPR reticle, and 32 MIL of elevation travel, specs that previously required a $1,500+ scope. Arken's AZS (Arken Zero Stop) provides a tactile mechanical zero stop, and the side parallax adjusts from 25 yards to infinity.
The VPR reticle is available in either MIL (0.1 MIL clicks) or MOA (1/4 MOA clicks) with 10 MIL or 25 MOA per turret revolution. Center dot illumination runs on a CR2032 (included). At 39.2 oz it is heavy by mid-tier standards, but that mass goes into rugged turret hardware and a 56mm light-gathering objective. Includes lifetime warranty.
This scope sees heavy use in entry-level NRL Hunter, Production-class PRS, and as a do-it-all precision optic for shooters building their first 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 rifle. It is not on the level of a Razor Gen 3 or Mark 5HD, but at one quarter to one third the price, the value is hard to beat.
