Overview

The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is now best treated as a legacy/used-market Scorpion row rather than CZ's current new-production pistol recommendation. CZ's current catalog focus is the Scorpion 3+ family, but the EVO 3 S1 remains important because many owners still build around it and much of the Scorpion aftermarket was originally designed for this generation.

The Scorpion uses a simple blowback operating system that's proven reliable across millions of rounds worldwide. While it lacks the soft-shooting characteristics of delayed systems, the Scorpion's recoil is manageable thanks to its balanced design and comfortable grip angle. The factory trigger has been criticized but improves significantly with the widely available aftermarket options.

The aftermarket for the Scorpion rivals or exceeds any other PCC. Triggers, handguards, stocks, charging handles, and every other conceivable part are available from multiple manufacturers. This makes the Scorpion highly customizable - most owners upgrade the safety, grip, and trigger, transforming an already good platform into an excellent one. Buyers shopping new inventory should compare against the Scorpion 3+ row rather than assuming every EVO 3 S1 listing represents current production.
