The AXIS 2 XP is the rifle most new deer hunters should buy. It is not the most accurate, the lightest, or the smoothest factory bolt, but it ships with a mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40mm scope, a user-adjustable AccuTrigger, and a detachable box magazine. Savage's AccuTrigger is the headline feature for the price tier. It adjusts user-side without gunsmith work, and the factory setting is already lighter than most entry bolt actions.
