Overview
The SOLGW MK1 CAR is the civilian 11.5" version of the rifle Sons of Liberty Gun Works built to win the USSOCOM carbine contract awarded in November 2025. The competition variant was select-fire; the commercial MK1 CAR keeps the same billet upper, lower, and rail receiver set and the same barrel and gas system, at 6.2 lb as an SBR and 6.3 lb as a pistol. It is sold as both a braced pistol and a stocked SBR at the same MSRP.
The MK1 rail is machined as part of the receiver set with a continuous 12:00 M1913 top rail and 7-sided M-LOK slots, so a mounted laser and optic stay co-indexed through hard use. The upper raceway carries a reduced-drag coating distinct from the external anodizing, which lets the action cycle on less gas for a softer, cleaner impulse, an advantage that matters most behind a suppressor at 11.5 inches. The 4150 chrome-lined barrel wears a HUXWRX flash hider on a 5/8x24 thread, the oversized muzzle thread SOLGW specified for the HUXWRX can the SOCOM rifle was developed around.
