Vortex Pro Cantilever Mount: A Base for More Than a Scope
Vortex has launched a new Pro Cantilever Mount family built around its matching red-dot and forward-rail accessories. The one-piece base comes in 30mm and 34mm ring sizes at 1.54-inch and 1.93-inch optical centerlines. The point is to keep a magnified scope in place while adding another sight or a rail-mounted device to the same mount system.
The rings sit forward of the receiver clamp, giving an AR-style rifle more room to position the scope for a full sight picture. A conventional mount still does that job. The new Pro base adds attachment points for Vortex's dedicated accessories, which makes the change meaningful for a rifle that may carry a second optic or a device above the scope. Choose the Tube Size and Height First
The scope's main tube decides between 30mm and 34mm rings. Ring height is a separate choice: 1.54 inches keeps the scope lower, while 1.93 inches raises the sightline for a more upright head position. The taller option also changes cheek contact and clearance, so choose it for the rifle and shooting position you actually use. Vortex describes the height options as supporting ordinary scope setups, clip-on devices, and night-vision setups.
This is a new Pro accessory family. Vortex names the new Pro Riflescope Rings and Pro Cantilever Mounts as hosts for the top dot and diving board. Its older Pro Extended and Sport mounts have different names; match an accessory to the mount named in Vortex's compatibility list before replacing any ring cap.

45-Degree or 12 O'Clock Red Dot?
The 45-degree Pro Cantilever accessory places a DeltaPoint Pro footprint sight off to the side of the new cantilever. Roll the rifle to bring that dot into view without changing the scope's magnification. The Pro accessory attaches to the cantilever itself, so it is a different fitment decision from a standalone Picatinny offset base.
The 12 O'Clock mount instead places the dot over the scope. It comes in 30mm and 34mm versions and fits the new Pro Cantilever Mounts or Pro Riflescope Rings. That position keeps the dot on the rifle's centerline, though it requires a higher head position than looking through the scope. Both dot accessories use the DeltaPoint Pro footprint; a different footprint calls for a different mounting solution.
A Forward Rail for the Impact 4000
The Pro Diving Board adds Picatinny slots ahead of the scope. Vortex calls out its Impact 4000 rail-mounted ballistic rangefinder, IR illuminators, and red dots as uses for the forward space. Like the 12 O'Clock mount, the diving board comes in 30mm and 34mm versions for the new Pro rings and cantilevers. Who Needs the New Pro System?
The strongest reason to use this mount family is a planned second device. A 30mm or 34mm scope can stay in its chosen position while a compatible dot or forward rail joins it. If the rifle only needs a scope, the height, tube size, clamp, and scope position matter more than accessory expansion. Compare those basics before using the rifle builder to plan the rest of the setup.
