Overview

The Magpul MBUS Pro Offset takes the same Melonite-finished steel construction as the standard MBUS Pro and rotates it 45 degrees for builds where the primary optic occupies the 12 o'clock rail position. This is the BUIS configuration for AR-15s running an LPVO, prism scope, or fixed magnified optic — anything tall enough or long enough that flip-up irons under it would either not co-witness or interfere with the optic body. Canting the rifle 45 degrees brings the offset irons into the eye line for backup engagement without unmounting or moving the primary optic.

Construction is identical to the regular MBUS Pro: case-hardened steel with Melonite QPQ finish, dual-aperture rear (CQB and precision), dual-width front post (0.06" standard and 0.04" match), and tool-free windage and elevation adjustments. The mounting hardware uses an integrated 45-degree offset rail clamp that fits any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail; no adapter required. Folded profile is low enough that the offset sights don't interfere with handguard accessories or hand placement.

Offset irons are slower than 12 o'clock folding irons because the gun must be rotated for use. They're also slower than going optic-only with no irons. The reason to run offset BUIS instead of conventional 12 o'clock irons under a magnified optic is reliability: an LPVO that takes a hit, a dead reticle illumination battery, or a fogged lens leaves you with the offset irons as a real backup option rather than a folded set blocked by your scope tube. For any AR-15 with a magnified primary optic, this is the standard answer.
