Magpul MBUS 3

The Magpul MBUS 3 represents the latest evolution of the world's most popular backup iron sights, bringing professional-grade features down to the price point of the Gen 2 while maintaining the proven polymer construction. Released in 2021, the MBUS 3 addresses years of user feedback with a slimmer profile, tool-free adjustments, and enhanced versatility - essentially downporting the Pro's adjustment capabilities into an affordable polymer package.

When folded, the MBUS 3 sits noticeably lower than its predecessor - just 0.47 inches for the front and 0.55 inches for the rear compared to 0.51 inches on the Gen 2. This reduced profile minimizes interference with low-mounted optics and reduces snag points on gear. The spring-loaded deployment is retained from the Gen 2 with an improved central button design for ambidextrous activation, though unlike the Gen 2's side latches, deployment requires removing your hand from the firing position.

The front sight features Magpul's innovative dual-width sight post borrowed from the MBUS Pro - rotate it 90 degrees to switch between a 0.06-inch standard width for maximum visibility and a 0.04-inch match width for precision work. Both elevation (front) and windage (rear) adjustments are now tool-free using low-profile knobs, eliminating the need to carry adjustment tools in the field. The rear sight's rapid-select aperture system allows quick transitions between wide and narrow apertures by pivoting the entire housing rather than fiddling with tiny inserts.
