Overview

The Osight X is the open-emitter, large-window flagship of Osight's RMR-footprint lineup. The window measures 21 x 24 mm, putting it on the wider end of RMR-footprint optics and giving a noticeably faster sight picture than the Trijicon RMR's narrower glass. The reticle is a switchable 3 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both, mirroring the Osight C platform but with the addition of a magnetic charging cover and an OAL alloy housing.

Power is rechargeable. The optic carries a built-in Li-Po cell, and the magnetic cover snaps onto the top of the housing for off-pistol top-ups while displaying battery state. Osight markets this as the same charging cover ecosystem as the XR and S, with the optic and cover sharing replenishment hardware. The OAL housing combines lightweight construction with strength claims above standard 7075 aluminum.

Footprint is Trijicon RMR, fitting full-size and compact MOS slides including most Glock 17/19 MOS, SIG P320, and S&W M&P 2.0 Optics-Ready platforms. At $229.99 the X sits between the open-emitter Osight 3 MOA ($229.99 single dot) and the enclosed XR ($299.99) and aims at shooters who want a wide-window RMR-footprint reflex without the enclosed premium. The chief tradeoffs are the open-emitter format itself, lint and debris are still failure modes, and the rechargeable cell with no field-swap option common to the rechargeable Osight family.

Key Features

  • Wide 21 x 24 mm window for fast acquisition
  • Switchable 3 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both reticles
  • Magnetic charging cover with built-in power bank
  • OAL alloy housing rated tougher than standard 7075
  • Trijicon RMR footprint fits full-size and compact MOS slides
  • IPX7 waterproof rating
  • Parallax-free aspherical lens
  • 10 brightness levels (8 daylight + 2 NV)

Pros

  • +Larger window than the Trijicon RMR or Holosun 507C
  • +Rechargeable cell plus magnetic charging cover travel system
  • +MRS reticle covers both precision and speed
  • +RMR footprint compatibility with the broadest MOS slide market
  • +OAL housing toughness claims

Cons

  • Open emitter remains vulnerable to lint and debris on carry
  • No field battery swap if the internal cell degrades
  • Heavier than slimmer competition like the RMR HD
  • Osight optics track record is shorter than Trijicon or Aimpoint
  • Charging cover IPX4 is lower than the optic itself
