Daniel Defense GL/SSC Pistol (12.5")

The GL/SSC pistol is the Title I path into the same hardware as the GL/SSC SBR. Barrel, rail, gas system, and muzzle device are identical: a 12.5-inch cold hammer forged, chrome-lined, government-profile barrel with a 1:7 twist on a carbine-length gas system, a DD A2 flash hider on 1/2x28 threads, and the free-float GL/SSC RIS II quad rail that carries M203 mounting hardware in the rail rather than in a separate hanger kit.

What changes is the paperwork. Because it ships as a pistol rather than a short-barreled rifle, it transfers like any other handgun on a Form 4473 with no tax stamp, no Form 4 wait, and no registration. For most buyers that is the whole argument, and it is why Daniel Defense sells the pistol and the SBR side by side at the same price.

The rifle is short and light for its barrel length, 29 to 32.25 inches overall at 6.2 pounds bare, which leaves headroom for a suppressor before the package gets heavy. Carbine-length gas on a 12.5-inch barrel is already brisk, so a suppressed setup benefits from a heavier buffer or an adjustable gas block.
