LimbSaver Classic Slip-On Recoil Pad (Large)

The LimbSaver Classic Slip-On Recoil Pad is the simplest meaningful recoil upgrade for a fixed-stock shotgun, and it is the standard answer for the Kel-Tec KSG, whose bullpup stock cannot accept a conventional replacement buttpad. The pad slips over the existing stock with no gunsmithing, no bolts, and no permanent modification. LimbSaver's NAVCOM (Noise and Vibration Control Material) absorbs a wide range of recoil frequencies and dissipates the energy that a hard polymer buttplate transmits straight into the shoulder. LimbSaver rates the felt-recoil reduction at up to 50 percent.

The large size, model 10548, fits buttstocks measuring 5-1/8 by 1-3/4 inch up to 5-3/8 by 1-7/8 inch, which covers the KSG's stock dimensions. This is the same pad M-Carbo packages and sells as its branded KSG recoil pad; buying the LimbSaver part directly is the cheaper path to the identical product. The pad adds roughly one inch of length of pull, which lengthens what is otherwise a short bullpup, a benefit for taller shooters and a consideration for shorter ones.

On a 12-gauge that fires full-power buckshot and slugs, the difference between a bare buttplate and a NAVCOM pad is the difference between a punishing range session and a manageable one. For the KSG specifically, where a longer or padded stock is not a bolt-on option, the slip-on pad is the highest-value recoil fix available.
