Overview
This is BCM's 14.5-inch standard mid-length MK2 upper receiver group with the MCMR-13 handguard, a compact BCM upper option.
The MK2 feature is the receiver format, not a special barrel extension. Pair this with a suitable muzzle-device plan if the build needs a 16-inch legal barrel length, and verify the current BCM listing options for bolt carrier group and charging handle at purchase time.
Key Features
- 14.5" standard 5.56 NATO barrel
- Mid-length gas system
- BCM MK2 upper receiver
- 13" BCM MCMR M-LOK free-float handguard
- BCG and charging handle selected from current listing options
Pros
- +14.5" mid-length layout handles shorter than a 16" carbine
- +MCMR-13 rail leaves useful M-LOK space near the muzzle
- +MK2 receiver format is separated from standard BCM rows
Cons
- −May need a pinned/welded muzzle device or NFA-appropriate lower setup
- −Not a BFH/CHF barrel configuration
- −BCG and charging handle may add cost depending on listing choices
