The Glock 45 Gen6 runs Glock's Optics Ready System, so the slide takes a plate rather than one fixed footprint. The plate bolts into the ORS pocket and the optic bolts to the plate. Factory plates cover three families out of the box: Plate 02 for the Trijicon RMR and Holosun 507C pattern, Plate 03 for C-More, and Plate 04 for the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and EOTech EFLX. Aimpoint ACRO, Holosun 509T, Holosun EPS, and Shield RMSc / Holosun K all need a machined aftermarket Gen6 plate. Check the generation before ordering: the Gen5 Glock 45 MOS is a different pocket and its plates will not fit.

The polymer plate Glock ships is the weak link in the system. Because it carries no optic fence, recoil shear loads the optic mounting screws instead of the plate body, which is how a correctly torqued and thread-locked dot still ends up off zero. A machined metal plate in the same footprint solves it, and metal plates are also where every footprint outside the factory set lives.
