Glock 45 Gen5 MOS optic footprint: what red dots fit

Glock 45 Gen5 MOS

The Glock 45 Gen5 MOS mounts optics through Glock's MOS plate system, so its footprint is whichever plate you install. The Glock 19-length Gen5 slide is milled with the MOS pocket, a plate drops into that pocket, and the red dot bolts to the plate. Factory Plate 02 handles Trijicon RMR and Holosun 507C footprint optics and Plate 04 handles the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, while machined aftermarket plates extend the same slide to Aimpoint ACRO, Holosun 509T, Holosun EPS, and Shield RMSc / Holosun K. That plate-first design is why a G45 will take nearly any pistol dot on the market.

The Glock 45 is a crossover: a Glock 19-length slide on a Glock 17-size frame. Optic fitment follows the slide, so anything that mounts on a Glock 19 Gen5 MOS mounts here, and the same plates carry over. Note that the Gen6 Glock 45 is a separate pistol with the ORS pocket and its own plate family, so check which generation you own before ordering.

Glock 45 Gen5 MOS optic fitment FAQ

What optic footprint does the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS use?

Do I need an adapter plate to mount a red dot on the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS?

Yes, for almost every optic. The Glock 45 Gen5 MOS mounts red dots through a plate system, so you bolt the plate matching your optic's footprint into the slide and then bolt the optic to the plate. The exceptions are optics built for that pocket, such as the C&H Direct Mount Optic for Glock MOS, which mount with no plate. Plates are available for the Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C, Shield RMSc / Holosun K, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Aimpoint ACRO, Holosun 509T and Holosun EPS footprints.

Does the Holosun 507C X2 fit a Glock 45 Gen5 MOS?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507C X2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS using a matching plate such as the Glock OEM MOS Adapter Plate 02 RMR and C&H Precision Glock MOS to RMR Steel Adapter Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Trijicon RMR Type 2 fit a Glock 45 Gen5 MOS?

Yes, on a plate. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS using a matching plate such as the Glock OEM MOS Adapter Plate 02 RMR and C&H Precision Glock MOS to RMR Steel Adapter Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun 507K X2 fit a Glock 45 Gen5 MOS?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507K X2 is a Shield RMSc / Holosun K footprint optic, so it mounts on the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS using a matching plate such as the C&H Precision Glock MOS RMSc / Holosun K Steel Plate and Calculated Kinetics Glock MOS DOGTAG RMSc / K Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun EPS Carry fit a Glock 45 Gen5 MOS?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun EPS Carry mounts on the Glock 45 Gen5 MOS using a matching plate such as the C&H Precision Glock MOS RMSc / Holosun K Steel Plate and Calculated Kinetics Glock MOS DOGTAG EPS Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Do Glock 19 MOS plates fit a Glock 45 MOS?

Yes. The Glock 45 carries a Glock 19-length Gen5 MOS slide, and the MOS pocket is common across the Gen5 MOS pistols, so the same plates fit. The pistol that will not share plates is the Gen6 Glock 45, which uses the ORS pocket instead.
