Who This Is For

The X-Flare is aimed at the owner who has already committed to a mil-spec lower and does not want to sell it or trade up to a different receiver for a flared magwell. That covers most of the AR-15 install base. Plain forged lowers from PSA, Anderson, Aero (base AR-15, not M4E1), and Bravo Company Manufacturing, plus the service-rifle clone builds, outnumber billet and enhanced receivers by a wide margin in the aftermarket, and none of them come with a flared magwell from the factory. The X-Flare adds one for $40 with no receiver work and no gunsmithing.

For a first-build AR-15 owner working through the first-$500 upgrade sequence, a flared magwell is not the first purchase. Iron sights, a sling, a light, and a trigger pull all move the rifle further first.
