Overview

The LMT MWS (Modular Weapon System) MARS-H in 6.5 Creedmoor is the heaviest-built option in this lineup and the most feature-dense. The monolithic upper receiver integrates the handguard rail, eliminating a mating surface and giving the rifle a single continuous optics platform. The quick-change barrel system lets users swap barrels (or calibers, across .308, 6.5 CM, and other MWS chamberings) with repeatable zero using a torque wrench and the factory barrel extension.

The MARS-H lower adds fully ambidextrous controls: bolt catch, bolt release, magazine release, and safety all run from either side. For left-handed shooters or competitors who switch shoulders, this is the cleanest factory solution in the 6.5 CM AR-10 segment.

LMT's reputation for QA and long-term durability is among the strongest in the industry, with UK and New Zealand military adoption of the MWS platform serving as external validation. The tradeoff is weight and price: at roughly 10 lbs unloaded and north of $4,000, this is a dedicated precision rifle, not a crossover platform. Buy it when you want the best-validated 6.5 CM AR-10 on the market and plan to shoot it past 600 yards.
