New York Law in Detail

New York Penal Law section 265.00(23) defines a large-capacity ammunition feeding device and includes a device that can be readily restored or converted above 10 rounds. The definition excludes attached .22-caliber tubular devices and certain antique-firearm devices.

The current compiled definition uses a 10-round device threshold. Transaction, possession, and loading questions should be analyzed under the current code rather than older summaries that use a seven-round shorthand.
