Alabama Magazine Limit: No Current State Cap

Alabama Code section 13A-11-61.3 establishes within the Legislature complete control over regulation of firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories and occupies and preempts that entire field. Its local-government exceptions include rules on the discharge of firearms and generally applicable zoning or business ordinances that include firearms businesses.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.
