Alabama Magazine Limit: No Current State Cap

Alabama Code section 13A-11-61.3 reserves regulation of firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories to the Legislature. Its local-government exceptions focus on matters such as discharge, zoning, and generally applicable business rules, making the preemption section the first checkpoint when a city or county rule appears to address magazines.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.
