Iowa Magazine Capacity Limit

Iowa Code section 724.28 bars political subdivisions from regulating ownership, possession, carrying, legal transfer, lawful transportation, modification, registration, or licensing of firearms, firearm attachments, and other weapons when the rule is inconsistent with state law.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
