New Mexico Magazine Capacity Limit

Article II, section 6 of the New Mexico Constitution states that no municipality or county may regulate an incident of the right to keep and bear arms. Local rules about discharge, public property, and other conduct can still arise under different authority.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
