Texas Magazine Capacity Limit

Texas Local Government Code sections 229.001 and 236.002 limit municipal and county rules concerning transfer, possession, carrying, ownership, storage, transportation, licensing, registration, and commerce in firearms, ammunition, supplies, and accessories.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
