Maryland Magazine Limit: 10 Rounds

Maryland Criminal Law section 4-305 addresses manufacture, sale, offer for sale, purchase, receipt, and transfer of a detachable magazine over 10 rounds. The operative list does not include simple possession.

Because the section regulates the transaction rather than only the buyer's eventual use, bringing a device back from an out-of-state purchase can present a different question from continued in-state possession.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.
