Section 35-47-11.1-3 voids conflicting local provisions, and section 35-47-11.1-4 lists the exceptions, such as employer rules for employees on duty, generally applicable zoning or business ordinances, and possession limits in buildings that contain a courtroom.

Federal baseline verified 2026-10-20. Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
Common questions
No. No magazine capacity limit; sale and possession of any-capacity magazines are lawful.
What to buy
Where state law sets no capacity cap, a proven 30-round AR magazine is the practical baseline. These picks prioritize reliable feed geometry, durable bodies, and replacement availability over novelty capacity.
