Alaska Magazine Capacity Limit

Alaska Statutes section 29.35.145 reserves regulation of the possession, ownership, sale, transfer, use, carrying, transportation, licensing, taxation, and registration of firearms to the State. Municipalities retain the limited powers listed in the section, including rules about discharge and municipal employees.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
