West Virginia Magazine Capacity Limit

West Virginia Code section 8-12-5a limits municipal regulation of the purchase, possession, transfer, ownership, carrying, transport, sale, and storage of firearms, ammunition, and ammunition components. It preserves specified zoning, business, and municipal-property powers.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
