South Carolina Magazine Capacity Limit

South Carolina Code section 23-31-510 reserves regulation of the transfer, ownership, possession, carrying, and transportation of firearms, ammunition, components, and combinations of components to the State. Local discharge and public-property rules remain subject to the chapter's exceptions.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.

Scope: Detachable magazine round-count restrictions for handguns and long guns. States not listed have no capacity limit.
