Michigan Magazine Limit: No Current State Cap

Michigan Compiled Laws section 123.1102 bars a city, village, township, or county from imposing special taxation on, or enacting, enforcing, or otherwise regulating, the ownership, registration, purchase, sale, transfer, transportation, or possession of pistols, other firearms, pneumatic guns, ammunition, or firearm components, except as federal or state law provides. Sections 123.1103 and 123.1104 preserve limited local authority, including rules for conduct that is a crime under state law, rules for local government employees, certain pneumatic gun rules, and city or charter township prohibitions on discharge.

There is no federal magazine capacity limit; the 1994 federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004.
