The statute in practice
Missouri Revised Statutes section 21.750 states that the General Assembly occupies and preempts the entire field of legislation touching firearms, components, ammunition, and supplies, and bars political subdivisions from regulating their sale, purchase, transfer, ownership, use, keeping, possession, bearing, transportation, licensing, permits, registration, or taxation other than sales and compensating use taxes. Subsection 3 preserves local ordinances that conform exactly with sections 571.010 to 571.070 and ordinances regulating open carrying or the discharge of firearms, and limits how an open-carry ordinance applies to holders of a valid concealed carry endorsement or permit.

What to buy
Where state law sets no capacity cap, a proven 30-round AR magazine is the practical baseline. These picks prioritize reliable feed geometry, durable bodies, and replacement availability over novelty capacity.
